Every time you arrive for duty, the stares want to take your last breath. Your onboarding made it real and the ongoing training goal is about your survival. But does the loyalty to the uniform keep you from asking for help? Is there a struggle to bond with others outside of work?

You: When the title of "guard" is in everyone's job description around you, is this same word how you relate to the close things of life around you when off-duty? Bonding is an in-born need that we all have and when it is not understood or disturbed, our behaviors are modified. Look at the effects of solitary lock-up. Is it time to re-tool and get ahead of the influences of work that are coating your journey through life?
Your Team: The strongest teams are always assessing the surroundings and most importantly, the engagement, strengths and care of the other teammates. Don't answer this out loud, but does your workgroup and chain-of command gel well through stress and crisis, or fumble and stumble through a lack of cohesion? Is it time for a training session that pulls the team together with personal benefit for all? Is there a even a policy or EAP in place to deliver pro-active team building?
Your Customers: What a tough crowd that you work around. And while you are often surrounded by the worst of the worst, there are many who pay their debt and move back into society on a new and focused journey. Makes you feel good when you helped shape these outcomes. But could you share and continue to shape these individuals better with more tools?
